Improvements and additional embellishments to the HQ are ongoing. 

- Recently CTac is grateful for a generous donation from the Toccoa VFW Post 4346. Three display cases were picked up and delivered to Camp by Fritz and Joyce Najarian from PA. They have purchased and donated most of the beds located in both the 506 and 517th barracks. Reenactors helped unload and set up in the HQ building. 

PAVILION
A pavilion was constructed from the ground up to serve as a meeting and gathering place.

BARRACKS RECONSTRUCTION

Barrack 1 (506th) completed and the foundations for additional barracks.

Barrack 4 (517th) reconstruction 

The 501 barracks is under construction

Progress continues....

Restoration of Barrack 1 (506th) making it ready for year around use by Roesch Construction.

- Interior walls, painting , window trim and rear entry handicap ramp completed

- HVAC system installed by C & A Service, Inc. Gas lines installed by the City of Toccoa

- Electrical completed by Hank Hayes Electrical Contractor

- Dirt was excavated around the barracks compliments of the Phillips Group

Wood WWII bunks purchased and donated to CTaC by the Fritz Najarian Family  

- The 506th barracks are now completed and available to rent for overnight stays,

Restoration of Barrack 4 (517th) by Carlton Lowry and William Tucker

- Original windows, including glass from original buildings are glazed and painted. Three have been installed with the remainder ready installed in early Dec. 2020.

- Soffit boards installed

- Future storage rooms

- Gutters have been added

- Handicap Accessible ramps added

- Thanks to a generous donation of $5,000 from Harbin Lumbar and the volunteer efforts of a Carlton Lowry led team of William Tucker, Mark McGinnis and Matthew Lathan the 517th (barrack 4) at CTaC now has a new exterior of siding that matches the pavilion and the 506th (barrack 1). CTaC plans to get it painted right away. Some on the interior walls, original windows from Camp Toccoa and insulation have been installed as well. 

- New sign added and installed through a team effort by Chuck Sippel, Carlton Lowry and crew and Mark Mcinnis.

-Barrack was emptied, cleaned and ready  for painted walls and finished floors, Roesch Construction has started that effort this week. The interior walls, emptying and cleaning was done by volunteers.

-WWII metal bunks, mattresses, pillows and mattress covers are added and were donated by the Fritz Najarian Family.

- HVAC systems installed

- The 517th barracks is now completed and available to rent. 

The recreation of 501 barracks is under construction

- Ctac thanks the Harbin Family Foundation for the on-going support of the project . 

- Nov 26, 2022: Doors are added to the structure and it is now dried-in. 

- Shingles added to the roof

- Siding and trim boards along with original Camp Toccoa windows boards added to the building. Ready for painting

- Wiring finished and insulation added inside

-Floor and ceiling are added.

- The outside of the building is painted and the interior walls installed.

-Gutters installed

- Sidewalk installed

- Handicap ramp added.

The 511th barracks

- January 8, 2024: Construction of the 511th is underway! The foundation is completed and framing has begun. 

- January 18, 2024: Framing completed and the building is Zip wrapped and ready for roofing. 

Roofing is under way and siding is done.

- Siding is on, wood front door is stained and stalled and painting is underway. 

-Gutters, handicap ramp and handrails have been added.

- HVAC is installed.
