January 19, 2024

Members of the Sencea High School visited Camp Toccoa. After their guided tour they had pizza in the pavilion then hiked Currahee Mountain. 

February 2, 2024

Members of the 101st ABN DIV AASLT (Administrative Law Attorney Office of the Staff Judge Advocate) from Fort Campbell, KY visited Camp Toccoa at Currahee. They ran Currahee Mountain and received a guided tour. 

CPT Stinson, pictured above, presented Gary Bellamy, President of Camp Toccoa at Currahee, LLC with a US flag with Commemorative Certificate and a Certificate of Appreciation.

Home school children's from Habersham County, GA visited the Camp.

9th POB from Ft. Liberty in North Carolina pose for a group picture in front of the C 47. During their stay they held training sessions in the pavilion, hiked Currahee Mountain and received a guided tour. 

February 23 & 24, 2024

 

Trail Life 0824 from Ricky Mount, NC visited Camp Toccoa and expressed their deep appreciation about the honoring the memory of those who trained at Camp Toccoa, They also expressed how impressed they were about the facility and staff. 

February 25- 27, 2024

Emily and Jillian Waun from North Carolina stayed in the 506th barrack. During their stay they received a guided tour, shopped in the gift shop and hiked Currahee Mountain. While in the area, they also visited many of the local attractions in Toccoa.

The Keehn visited Camp Toccoa in celebration of the 15th year of Mr. Keehn (front center) who was born on Feb 29th. A visit to Camp Toccoa was on his bucket list. They received a guided tour. 

March 1 - 2, 2024

Boy Scout Troop 11 from South Carolina camped out during their visit. They also received a guided tour and hiked Currahee Mountain.

March 1 - 2, 2024

The "Bridge to History" group from Texas, led by Liberty Phillips, spent tow nights in the barracks. While staying at the camp, they performed a work project, received a guided tour and learned about the courageous men that trained here. They also hiked Currahee Mountain to gain an even greater appreciation for the servicemen stationed at the Camp.

Members of the Stephens County High School JROTC visited the Camp. They received a guided tour of the camp. 

March 8, 2024

Members of the Clemson ROTC visited the Camp and ran up Currahee Mountain at daybreak earning their bracelets.  They also received a guided tour of the camp. 

March 9, 2024

Members of the Naval Academy' s Heavyweight Crew rowing team from Annapolis, MD visited the Camp and ran Currahee Mountain as they do every Spring.

Payette National Forest Wildland Firefighters Idaho received a guided tour and hiked Currahee Mountain.

Members of Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Oregon ran Currahee Mountain the original way. Before their run, they received a guided tour of the Camp.

The 3rd Battalion of the 54th Infantry regiment from Ft. Moore conducted training sessions in the pavilion. They received a guided tour and presented the Camp with a certificate of appreciation and a challenge coin.

The Ed Williams of the Old Guard (retired) of the Georgia National Guard presented a check donation of $500 to Cynthia Brown, Project Chair of Camp Toccoa at Currahee. 

March 19, 2024

Members of the 3rd Battalion of the 60th Infantry Regiment of the 193 Infantry from Ft. Jackson SC visited the Camp. While here they received a guided tour, hiked Currahee Mountain to earn their wrist bands. They had lunch in the pavilion and presented Board member & volunteer Brad Rettig with a certificate of appreciation. 

March 20, 2024

Stacey Simmons, Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 1820 presented a check to Cynthia Brown, Project Chair of Camp Toccoa. Patricia and George Smith along with Patrick Hall from Camp Toccoa also represented the Camp at the event. The Elks Lodge presented $30,000 to several deserving local charities that evening.

Camp Toccoa at Currahee thanks and acknowledges Joyce and Fritz Najarian who donated and delivered WWII bunk beds along with purchased mattresses. They are pictured above in the 506th barracks.

Jo & Ian Cooper from the UK visited and toured Camp Toccoa. They also hiked Currahee Mountain to earn their bracelets. 

Their visit coincided with of the  arrival of the advance party from All Airborne Battalion. Everyone was all smiles posing with the jeep.

Mark McGinnis, a Camp Toccoa at Currahee volunteer, brought several of his friends to visit and tour the Camp. The members of the group came from Georgia, Myrtle Beach, California, Minnesota and Wales.

High School students from Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove, GA visited and received a guided tour of the Camp. Kim Kerce, their counselor, brought the group.

Jack Bateman and Barbara Agnew Maloney, great grandson and daughter of Toccoa Man Jack Agnew, visited the Camp. Jack Bateman ran up Currahee and is pictured on the top of the mountain above. The bottom picture is from 1973 when Jack Agnew  brought his wife Betty to visit the Camp.

March 26 - 30, 2024

There was alot of activity, excitement, and anticipation at Camp Toccoa at Currahee as All Airborne Battalion prepared actors from the "Band of Brothers" movie to jump out of a C-47 plane in honor of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. The preparation and jump,  while on site and other locations,  was filmed to create a documentary "Currahee to Normandy - The Jump." It is expected that the documentary will debut in October during Currahee Military weekend.

William (Bill)  Grimes (on right) and friend, Mike (left) visited Camp Toccoa. Bill's father was a Toccoa Man in "G" Company of the 506th PIR. They received a guided tour and enjoyed their visit.
