Each year Camp Toccoa at Currahee holds four patriotic events in commemoration of the military servicemen and women who have served and sacrificed for our country.

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY- Monday, May 30, 2022/ 11AM
Open to the public. Presented by local veterans organizations. Sheltered seating is provided in the pavilion. Please plan to arrive at 10:30 AM so you can be seated in time for the beginning of the ceremony.
D-DAY BANQUET & RUN - Friday and Saturday, JUNE 3 & 4 , 2022
Camp Toccoa at Currahee holds a 2 - day special event in commemoration of one of the most significant days in history, D-DAY -- the invasion of Normandy by the Allies -- where the brave men who trained at Camp Toccoa played an integral role in the success of the mission.
The weekend kickoffs Friday evening with a Banquet & Silent Auction featuring a guest speaker.
Then on Saturday there is the "Currahee Run / Walk 10K" -- 3 miles up and 3 miles down Currahee Mountain. Experience the course the soldiers of Camp Toccoa experienced while training for their missions.
Both events support the on-going and further development of Camp Toccoa.

- Dwain Sayer will have his WWII memorabilia on display in the 517th Barrack
- Robert von Zeppelin will have unique WWII uniforms on display at the 517th Barrack
- Project C47 Team will work on the C47
Saturday Oct 2nd / 6:30 AM - 4PM: Camp Toccoa open for visitors
Currahee Challenge 10K / 5K Run or Walk
7AM - registration opens
8AM - 5K Walk or Run
9AM - 10K Walk or Run

9AM - 1PM: The National Forest Service will be in and around the Pavilion with "Smokey the Bear"
10AM - Noon: John Hewitt will sign his book, "Broken Wings: A Brother Left Behind" in the Pavilion. The book covers the life of his father James Hewitt who was one of the original instructors at Camp Toccoa. James Hewitt was in the original class of paratroopers at Ft. Benning in 1941. Books are available for purchase at the Camp Toccoa gift shop.
1PM - 3PM: Jason Wetzel will sign his book, "Georgia POW Camps in World War II" in the pavilion. Camp Toccoa was used as a POW camp. The book is available for purchase at the Camp Toccoa bookstore.
